Announcement of Keybit8 release

Shirogane Lab has recently launched a new product, "Keybit8."

Keybit8 is a "macro pad keyboard" designed for those new to soldering custom keyboards or who want to try programming. It is a compact 8-key custom keyboard kit equipped with 9 LEDs and a piezoelectric speaker. You can enjoy light and sound feedback synchronized with key presses. Three games are included in the standard firmware, so you can play simple games without programming.

By programming with the Arduino IDE, you can also create games using light and sound.

Although it has a small number of keys, it supports layer switching, allowing you to assign shortcut keys and use macro functions for gaming. It can also be used for various other purposes, such as a sub-keyboard or a left-hand device.

It is recommended for those interested in custom keyboards, as well as an introduction to electronics. Furthermore, given its simple configuration and ease of use, we anticipate its application in educational settings, such as junior high school technology classes.
